Webinar: Martyn's Law and First Aid (Past, Present and Future)

In this webinar we will consider Martyn's Law and First Aid: The past, the present and the future.

Specifically, we'll explore the critical intersection of public safety and personal responsibility with Phil Carr, of Foresti Training Limited.

The 22nd of May, 2017; the date of the Manchester Arena bombing, was a tragedy that not only scarred a nation but also exposed a critical gap in our collective emergency preparedness. It triggered a seismic shift in how we approach first aid in the public sphere, forcing us to confront the hard lessons learned from a lack of widespread training and resources.

In this episode, we'll chart the evolution of public first aid through three distinct phases:

  1. We'll revisit the landscape before the Manchester attack to understand the profound impact of those initial shortcomings.
  2. We'll analyse where we stand today, examining the new requirements and legislative changes that have reshaped the approach to first aid delivery, whilst also scrutinising the massive challenges still faced in terms of equipment and training.
  3. Looking to the future, this autumn, the European Resuscitation Council is set to release new guidelines that will ripple across the continent. What impact will those have on our practices here in the UK?

Join us as we explore the past, present and future of first aid and as we consider our ability to respond when seconds count.
